Crooked Teeth
Serving Patients from Medford, Klamath Falls, Ashland, Klamath Falls, Yreka and Central Point
Millions of people of all ages have crooked teeth to some degree. Even those who have worn braces and retainers in their adolescence are disappointed to find that their once-straightened teeth have again become crooked as time has passed. While many people are comfortable with their crooked teeth, there are many who do not smile with the confidence they could have with straight teeth.
Traditional braces and orthodontics used to be the only widely-available treatment for crooked teeth. While those are still effective treatments, today’s cosmetic dental procedures offer other options to those who want a more beautiful smile. Here are a few of them:
Instant Orthodontics - Instant orthodontics can do in two or three visits what traditional braces may take years to do. Instant orthodontics involves the application of porcelain veneers to enhance your smile. Porcelain veneers not only can reshape your problem teeth, but also provide the added bonus of being resistant to staining and discoloration. Please see our porcelain veneers page for complete information.
Invisalign - Invisalign is an option for those who have mildly crooked teeth. A series of clear plastic aligners are used to gradually straighten your teeth. In contrast to traditional braces, these aligners are removable and hardly noticeable. You may not be a candidate for Invisalign if you have severely crooked teeth. However, if your top set of teeth are mildly crooked and your bottom set are severely crooked, then Invisalign may be used on your top set, while other treatments can be performed on the bottom set.
Tooth Reshaping - It may be that only a few teeth are causing your crooked smile. In the hands of a capable cosmetic dentist, a problem tooth can be sculpted any number of ways to achieve a patient’s aesthetic goals. As long as the problem tooth is otherwise healthy, virtually anything is possible through dental bonding, porcelain crowns, and veneers.
Of course, traditional braces will always be an option. However, many adults simply do not have the time to make multiple visits to an orthodontist. Braces are unsightly, cumbersome, and a long-term commitment that many adults are not willing or able to make. Fortunately, there are now other options to straighten your crooked smile.
