Questions about Dental Bonding

Klamath Falls Dental Bonding QuestionsServing Patients from Medford, Klamath Falls, Ashland, Yreka and Central Point

How long does the bonding procedure take?

A typical bonding procedure can be done in one office visit if only one or two teeth are being treated. Expect additional visits if more extensive work needs to be done.

Am I a good candidate for Dental Bonding?

Dental bonding is not a cure-all treatment. It is only appropriate for minor chips, cracks, discoloration, cavities, small gaps between teeth, and slightly crooked teeth. If this is all that is wrong with your teeth, then bonding is probably a suitable option for you.

I’m concerned that my teeth may be too damaged for bonding. How do I know for sure, and what are my other options?

A consultation with an experienced cosmetic dentist will determine whether your teeth are suitable for bonding. Teeth that have more severe damage may require other cosmetic procedures such as veneers and crowns. Your dentist will discuss the best options for your particular case during this consultation.

Is Dental Bonding a permanent fix, or should I consider other treatments that will have a longer life expectancy?

With proper care, your bonding treatments could last 3 to 10 years, but it is difficult to predict how long a bonding will last.  Porcelain veneers and crowns tend to have a longer life span. And, most would agree that veneers and crowns are far superior in terms of aesthetics. These treatments are considerably more involved and expensive, however. If you are a candidate for all of these treatments, then it will ultimately be up to you and your budget constraints which procedure you choose to get.

How much does a dental bonding procedure cost?

This will depend on the extent of work that needs to be done, but expect the cost to be anywhere between $100 and $400 per tooth. Fortunately, many dental insurance providers will cover some dental bonding procedures. Check with your provider or ask one of our staff to determine if you are covered.
